Absolutely delightful experience stopping here for dinner with friends! The bar is somewhat limited on selection, but not an issue whatsoever. Drinks were crafted professionally and a delight to drink. Atmosphere was perfect as was the decor. The food selection changes almost daily and is by far the freshest tasting food we've had in a long time. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions. The Italian wine list was superb and reasonable. Next time we visit the area, we will be back!

Excellent, authentic Italian restaurant. Everything was portioned and prepared to perfection. You can tell the chef takes great care and pride in the quality of the ingredients and their preparation. The menu rotates frequently and they try to use ingredients that are in season. This isn't your typical American "Spaghetti and Meatballs" kind of Italian, so if you're looking for that, I would look elsewhere; however, if you are not too picky of an eater, eating here is a wonderful experience.

Excellence personified!! Maine’s finest Italian Restaurant! Fresh, modern, inventive, creative and delicious beyond words. The seafood is so fresh it’s literally swimming off your plate. The pasta is all handmade in-house - and is on a different level. The depths of flavors evoked in their sauces and broths is pure art. Can’t sing enough praises about Jesse, who runs the restaurant! A consummate professional. The experience at this restaurant is exceptional, the food even better! Save yourself an 8 hour flight to Italy and eat here instead!

The customer service and the food quality is good but the quantity of food is just not there. We paid $75 each for our meals and then we had to go McDonald’s to grab a chicken spicy sandwich. I won’t recommend going here unless you want to spend $150 per person to be even remotely satisfied.

It's difficult to overstate how delicious the food at Solo Italiano is. The food is expensive, no doubt, but is some of the best we've ever had. The fried bread was heavenly, a perfect way to start a meal. The pasta dishes were also perfectly cooked, and I especially loved the ravioli. It's easy to recommend this place to anyone visiting Portland. Even though the city is filled to the brim with fabulous restaurants, Solo Italiano takes the cake!
